About me

I’m a historian and professor interested in the history of the modern South with a particular focus on political, economic, and social change in Alabama across the twentieth century.

Whether I’m teaching, speaking, or writing, my goal is to make history approachable and meaningful for all people. I truly believe that when we understand the past, and the past of our communities, we can truly appreciate how to live in community with others.
